This midspan injects power and data to compatible network devices effortlessly, eliminating the need to replace existing Ethernet switches and cabling infrastructure. With the capability to support 8 network devices simultaneously, the AXIS Power over Ethernet Midspan 8-port provides a cost-effective installation solution. Each port delivers up to 15.4 W of power and is compliant with IEEE 802.3af standards, ensuring compatibility with most Axis products equipped with PoE support. The key features of this midspan include IEEE 802.3af compliance, reduced installation costs, plug-and-play functionality, shielded RJ45 connectors, support for Shielded category 5 (or higher) Ethernet cables, wiring in Mode A with data and power transmission over pairs 1/2 (+) and 3/6 (-), and a 48 V DC power supply providing a maximum of 15.4 W per port.
